There are different settings you can adjust for quotes that you create within the Shipper TMS. This includes toggling on Bid Duration, adjusting the length of a time bids will remain open, and giving only your most trusted Network Partners the ability to receive Auto Tenders or use the Book It Now feature on quotes you build using the Auto Book feature. How to Set Bid Duration Preferences
You can find these settings using the Quote Preferences page, which can be found by clicking the gear icon in the lower left hand side of the screen.
Select Quote Preferences from the Settings list.
You will now be able to toggle Bid Durations on Spot Quotes on or off, giving your Network Partners a set amount of time to bid on your quotes.
Enter the time frame in the Hours and Minutes fields that you would like to have be the default time frame for quotes with Bid Duration turned on.
You can also toggle Auto Tender on Spot Quotes, which will tender a quote to the lowest option at the end of the Bid Duration if the quote itself is not a Contract Lane with an associated Route Guide.
The BOOK IT NOW PREFERENCES section allows you to set a default Book It Now Rate on Spot Quotes if you are connected to Emerge through an API connection.
You can choose the percent Above or Below the Market Rate based on the Origin and Destination of the quote.
Click Above or Below to choose whether you want the Book It Now rate to be higher or lower than the Market Rate for the specific Origin and Destination pairing of the quote.
The Rate Type field will be automatically populated from your Fuel Surcharge Settings page. Click here to learn more about How to Adjust the Fuel Surcharge Settings.
Once you save these settings, next time you build a Quote you will see the default Bid Duration Time automatically populated with the length of time you chose.
Once the quote is created and up for bidding, you will see the timer indicating the amount of time left until the bid auto-tenders to the lowest option. You will also notice a banner that shows that the Auto Tender function is on. Click TURN OFF AUTO TENDER to prevent the quote from Auto Tendering once the Bid Duration end.
The three statuses that appear on a quote with Bid Duration are Bidding Open, Bidding Ending Soon, and Accepting Late Bids. The Bidding Ending Soon status appears when there are 15 minutes left of the Bid Duration, and the Accepting Late Bids indicates that the bidding has closed, however carriers who were invited to bid on the quote can still submit a bid.
Once the Bid Duration is over and the quote is Auto Tendered, the quote will move into the Tenders tab until the Network Partner accepts the tender. You will also see the Auto Tendered icon below the load details.
Auto Book Network Partners
You can also toggle the Auto Book Network Partners functionality on/off. When turned on, you can specific which Network Partners you would like to be able to receive Auto Awards and use the Book It Now feature on your quotes. When the Auto Book Network Partners List functionality is toggled off, all of your Network Partners will be eligible to receive Auto Awards and use Book It Now when available.
Select the Network Partner(s) from the left column that you want to add to the Auto Book Partners by clicking the box next to their Name. Network Partners who are not in the Auto Book Partners list will still be able to submit rates on your quotes, but they cannot be Auto Awarded on quotes with Bid Duration and Auto Award enabled, and they won't see the Book It Now option on quotes you have built with a Book It Now rate.
Once you have made your selections, click ADD TO AUTO BOOK PARTNERS.
You will now see the Network Partner in the Auto Book Partners list. You can select any of these Auto Book Partners and click REMOVE FROM AUTO BOOK PARTNERS as necessary. Click SAVE once you have made your selections.
