How to Manage Shipments
Once you’ve been tendered a shipment, you can manage it by adding tracking, downloading Bills of Lading (BOLs), adding documents, and leaving notes for the shipper to see. You can also set up tracking through P44 by entering the cell phone number of the driver.
Mobile tracking is the preferred method of tracking and requires an app download and is assigned to the driver’s phone number. The driver will receive a text message with a link to download the app and follow the setup instructions 90 minutes prior to the pick up appointment start time. This will provide location updates by using the driver’s smartphone. Note: Project44 Driveview is not compatible with VOIP or Landlines.
How to Track a Shipment
-
When in the Shipments tab, click the Emerge ID of the shipment you want to add tracking to.
-
Click ADD TRACKING METHOD at the top of the page.
-
Enter the Driver’s Phone Number and click SAVE. Note: The number must be a real phone number, rather than a VOIP. If the phone number is not valid, you will not be able to start tracking.
-
Once the phone number is saved, a text message will be sent 3 hours prior to the pick up with two links. One will direct the driver to the application store to download the P44 application, and the other will be a link directly to the shipment in the application if the driver already has it downloaded, where they can accept tracking. When the load is accepted in the application, the shipment will start tracking from 3 hours before the load picks up to the moment the driver leaves the Consignee. You can view the progress of shipments within the shipment. Note: Shippers are able to view this tracking once it has been set. In order for the tracking to work, the P44 application must be on for the entirety of the trip.
-
The Shipment Status column in the Shipments tab will also show tracking updates.
How to Download the Bill of Lading (BOL) and Upload Documents to a Shipment
-
Click the MANAGE tab on the left side of the screen, select Shipments, and select the Emerge ID of the shipment you want.
-
Scroll down the page to the Documents section and click DOWNLOAD BOL. This will download a PDF that contains the necessary information to pick up the load.
-
Click ADD DOCUMENT to upload documents such as a proof of delivery or lumper receipts.
-
A window will pop up on your screen, where you can click BROWSE to find the file or use the Drag & Drop feature, and then click UPLOAD to attach the document to the load.
How to Add Notes in a Shipment

Click the MANAGE tab on the left side of the screen, select Shipments, and select the Emerge ID of the shipment you want to add notes to.
-
On the right-hand side of the screen, you can type in the Write a note… section and then click ADD NOTE.
