Based on your preferences, you have the ability to change how miles are calculated when building quotes depending on which you use for invoicing. These calculations impact the following:
- All in Rates populated from Network Partners using Rate Per Mile as their rate type.
- All FSC calculations.
- Route Guide options that are entered as Rate Per Mile.
The length of haul (LoH) that is calculated will be displayed to both the shipper and the carrier. Only users with designated as Administrators have the ability to change the Mileage Provider. Click here to learn how to Manage Users.
There are three different options that utilize an API connection with different providers which automatically calculate miles. Click these links to skip ahead to learn more: PC MILER, Rand McNally, or Google Maps. You can choose to have the ability to override the calculated miles from each provider, and you also have the option to manually enter miles each time a quote is built.
To access the Mileage Preferences section, click the gear icon in the lower left hand corner of the screen to view the Settings window.
You will now see the Mileage Settings page. The default setting is set to PC MILER selected as the default provider.
