Lane incumbents allows Shippers to upload incumbent data for use in the Dynamic RFP platform including Scenario Builder to analyze cost , and manual awarding.
This article will explain how to utilize the incumbent lane attribute within the RFP platform.

Create Lane Template with Incumbent SCAC
1. Login to your account. If you are logged into the Marketplace as shown below, click the app switcher to Switch to Dynamic RFP.
2. First, go to TEMPLATES. Then select CREATE TEMPLATE or click the 3 dots next to the template you want to change and select Edit.
4. In step 2 of 4, Shipper Data, you will see the Incumbent SCAC field. This is usually at the bottom of the list and is included as a default field. You can move the position of the incumbent field to show in your preferred location in the lane template.
5. Complete remaining steps and click Save. Your newly created or updated template will now display in Lane Templates.
Upload Incumbent data
1. To upload incumbent data, create an event.
2. In step 4 of 6, select and download the template for your event that includes Incumbent SCAC.
3. Enter data into each column. In Incumbent SCAC, enter SCAC codes if applicable. Separate multiple SCACs with a comma as seen in the example below.
4. Complete remaining steps to publish your event.
Using Lane Incumbent Data After Bidding has Closed
The following are ways to use lane incumbent data within the Dynamic RFP platform after bidding has closed.
View Lane Incumbent status in event results
Check to see if incumbents have bid on your lane by downloading the Event Results from the Lanes page.
In the download, view the Lane Incumbent column for the following:
Yes indicates the bid is by an incumbent carrier.
No indicates the bid is not an incumbent carrier.
Custom Cost Formula for Lane Incumbents
Proceed until step 4 of 4. On this screen you can either choose the default FTL cost formula or the custom FTL cost formula. With the custom formula you add discounts for your incumbents
Use Lane Incumbent in Scenario Builder
You can use scenario builder to prioritize incumbents. Within the scenario builder you can add a constraint using the Lane Incumbent data.
